Makers Market success

Volunteers at Aberporth Village Hall are celebrating the success of their Makers Market.

The event - which will be held in the hall on Sunday October 26  from 10am-2pm - is the fifth event since the hall opened last year.

One of the organisers Jeanette Leyland said: "The market is going from strength to strength. The market is held twice a year in May and October and is always the May Bank Holiday weekend at the beginning of May and then the last Sunday in October.

"This year we actually have a waiting list in case any tables become available.  We ensure all participants are fairly local and make their own goods for sale. The event would not be the success it is without the team of volunteers behind it from start to finish and the support from the trustees. Footfall  last October was over 400 during the four hours the event took place."

There is a variety of local high quality traders offering crafts and handmade goods ranging from jewellery and wooden items to crafts and luxury goods.

Entry is just £1 which includes a free prize draw donated by In  The Welsh Wind.

"Stallholders Yvette Brown and Lydia Niziblian exhibited at the recent Cardigan Castle  Craft Festival," said Jeanette.

"We aim to get the higher quality makers and visitors come from a wide area to see and purchase some beautiful things."

The Makers Market is at Aberporth Village Hall, Sunday October 26 from 10am to 2pm.
