Green Flag flies again!

The hard work of dedicated garden volunteers has ensured that the prestigious Green Flag Community Award continues to fly at Canolfan Dyffryn in Aberporth as Keep Wales Tidy announces the winners of the 2026 Green Flag Awards. 

A record 330 parks and green spaces across Wales have reached the high standards required to fly the coveted Green Flag for 2026. This includes 93 sites which achieved full Green Flag Award status and 237 who received a Green Flag Community Award. 

The Green Flag Community Award flag was awarded to Aberporth Village Hall volunteers in recognition of their environmental efforts, excellent visitor facilities, and community involvement.

A special tea party was held at the flag raising ceremony attended by volunteers, village hall chair Mike Harwood, community council chair Zoe Storer and county councillor Clive Davies.

Green Flag Community Awards celebrate high-quality, volunteer-run spaces such as community gardens and local nature reserves.

Village hall chair Mike Harwood said: "Our garden volunteers have breathed life into this garden - their hard work has really paid off."
