A special celebration was held in the village hall on August 9 – exactly one year after the hall officially opened.
Family, friends and neighbours gathered for the unveiling of a portrait of the late Mary Bott MBE - taking pride of place in the meet and greet area.
Mary was a former community councillor, village hall trustee and raised many thousands of pounds for countless local good causes.
Aberporth Community Council chair Sue Lewis said: “If there was anything going on in the community Mary was at the heart of it – local groups and activities, dressing up for the carnival, acting on stage, organising raffles, public speaking – you name it she did it.
She had an irrepressible sense of fun and could get a party started in an empty room
She has left a massive hole in our village.”
Mary’s daughters Ann and Jane are pictured with the portrait.
