Volunteers sign up for community projects

Volunteers are lining up to take part in a raft of exciting community projects in Aberporth.

More than 20 people turned up at a volunteer recruitment coffee morning on Saturday and all signed up to take part in projects including a community fridge, community garden and digi club plus the ongoing recycled clothes rail Dillad Dwywaith.

The projects are being rolled out by Aberporth Village Hall Committee as part of its £1.1m Heart of the Community project which will see work start on the construction of a brand new village hall later this month.

Hall chairman Mike Harwood said he was delighted at the response.

“It is really heartwarming to see how many people are interested in taking part in these projects and helping the community,” he said.

Prospective volunteers were able to have a chat with community fridge co-ordinator Nicola King plus community projects co-ordinator Julie Woods.

Anyone interested in taking part in the fridge can email Nicola at avhcommunity.fridge@gmail.com or for the other projects contact Julie at avhcommunityprojects@gmail.com. You can also see the latest updates on the Aberporth community fridge facebook page.
